Watch as Donald Trump tries, and fails, to explain why he is opposed to same-sex marriage.
Donald Trump appeared at a loss to be able to explain his opposition to same-sex marriage or even his support for “traditional marriage” in a CNN interview Sunday.
“I’m traditional marriage,” Trump told Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.”
When asked what he would tell a lesbian or gay couple why, especially considering he is on his third “traditional marriage,” Trump responded that he works very hard.
“I’ve been a very hard working person,” Trump said, acknowledging that gay couples “have a point.”
“I have a good wife now,” Trump pointed out. “My [first] two wives were very good. I don’t blame them, but I was working 22 hours a day.”
“I blame myself because my business was so powerful for me,” the multi-billionaire admitted.
Tapper pressed Trump, asking again what he would say to a same-sex couple, Trump responded, “I really don’t say anything. I’m for traditional marriage.”
