Watch: Ellen Delivers Inspiring Speech Supporting ‘Incredibly Brave’ Bruce Jenner

Watch Ellen DeGeneres doing what she does best – inspiring and supporting others, and making everyone feel good. Well except the “poo-poo heads,” of course.

On Friday Ellen responded to Bruce Jenner‘s ABC News interview, during which he announced he is a woman. DeGeneres, who of course has her own coming out story, when she told the world in 1997 she is a lesbian.

“It took a lot of courage to do that,” DeGeneres said. “Even if you don’t understand it, and I’m sure there are a lot of people who don’t understand it, you have to admire someone who is willing to risk ridicule and tell the truth. It’s so much easier to live your life keeping a secret because we all want to fit in.”

And she took a moment to slam Jenner’s critics, in her own, unique way.

“I think when people feel uncomfortable and they don’t understand something that’s how they deal with it, they make jokes,” she added. “It’s very childish and I think those people are poo-poo heads.”

The Huffington Post notes DeGeneres “was one of several celebrities to tweet her support immediately after Jenner’s interview with Diane Sawyer first aired.”
