Today prosecutor Marilyn Mosby held a stunningly impactful press conference detailing what happened to Freddie Gray and the charges she is filing against the six officers involved.

Calling the officers’ actions “grossly negligent,” this morning the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City announced she is filing charges against six police officers in the death of Freddie Gray. Among the charges filed against some of the officers are second degree murder, manslaughter, and false imprisonment. Not all of the officers are charged with all of these crimes.
The Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart called Mosby’s press conference “amazing,” adding, “Mosby revealed herself to be a tough prosecutor whose closing message to the community and to law enforcement will go a long way to calming the tensions in Charm City.”
He also writes that “Mosby struck a beautiful balance between the righteous anger of the community and the necessary respect for law enforcement.”
