TLC May Spin Off ’19 Kids And Counting’ Into Show About Next Generation Of Duggars
If TLC is forced to cancel its “19 Kids and Counting” cash cow, the Duggars may still have a reality TV home on the same channel.
Josh Duggar‘s teenage sexual molestation scandal may have scuttled “19 Kids and Counting,” but don’t expect TLC to take all the Duggars off the air for long. While the network has wholly ignored calls to cancel the show after it was revealed last week that Josh sexually and in some cases forcibly molested five girls, including family members when he was a teenager, it’s likely the decision to take the Duggars off the schedule is a short-term one.
But if TLC ends up canceling “19 Kids and Counting,” the Duggars will still be gainfully employed.
PEOPLE magazine reports TLC is likely working on a Duggars spinoff, perhaps titled, 2 Brides and Their Grooms. The show would focus less on Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, which has been its evolution, and focus more on sisters Jessa and Jill.Â

Jill is now married to Derick Dillard, and Jessa is now married to Ben Seewald. The Seewalds recently took a trip to a creationism institute where Ben interviewed a creation “scientist,” revealing there’s no such thing as atheism.
“The show had begun to focus more and more on the next generation of Duggars, anyway – mainly Jill and Jessa and their marriages and babies,” PEOPLE’s source says. “That’s when the show got its highest ratings.”
