Three Term Republican Former NY Governor George Pataki Enters Presidential Race, To Yawns
George Pataki has just announced he is running for president. Yes, of the United States. George who?
You, and most Americans – even most New Yorkers – can be forgiven if the name George Pataki doesn’t ring a bell. At 69-years old, the Republican three-term former governor of New York was nestled in a state leadership lineup between a progressive giant, Democratic NY Governor Mario Cuomo, and a quickly-embarrassed scandal-laden Democratic NY Governor Eliot Spitzer.Â
Despite the fact that he was governor during 9/11, many barely remember him.Â
But this morning George Pataki, in a slickly-produced video, announced he is running for president.Â
He joins Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Mike Huckabee, and Rick Santorum to become the eighth Republican contender, with many more to come.
