Evangelical Church Leader: Same-Sex Marriage Means ‘Soon There Won’t Be New Born Children’
A powerful leader of a worldwide evangelical church warns that same-sex marriage will lead to no more babies being born.
Pastor E. A. Adeboye is the head of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), an evangelical branch of Christianity known as Holiness. The RCCG boasts five million members around the world, and Pastor Adeboye was named one of the fifty most powerful people in the world by Newsweek in 2008.
Adeboye is worried that if gay people continue to marry, there won’t be any different-sex couples left.
Based in Nigeria, the 73-year old evangelical leader took to Facebook to make his warning clear.
“I went to a country and the press was waiting for me, why because they said they believe I hate homosexuals,” the Pastor wrote. “I don’t hate anyone and you can do whatever you want to.”
He warned that if “man marry man and woman marry woman,” there would be “no need to stop global warming because soon there won’t be new born children.”
And when same-sex couples “want to adopt, who will give birth to the child and how?,” he asked.
Some of his followers on Facebook – he has 2.2 million – were in total agreement.
“These are all satanic devices. Thwarting Gods purpose of reproduction for us,” one wrote. Another added, “good question…they probably never thought about that.”
“God created man &woman for a reason in Jesus name,” agreed another, while one insisted, “We are in the END TIME.”
