The NYPD is looking for the man in this image, who is suspected of whacking a gay couple over the head with a wooden chair in a NYC Chelsea BBQ restaurant.
The NYPD has released video of a man suspected in an anti-gay hate crime. The man, whom police describe as being about 6’4″, was in a New York City Chelsea neighborhood restaurant, Dallas BBQ. The victims, Jonathan Snipes, 32, and his boyfriend Ethan York-Adams, 25, were eating and hurrying to leave after Snipes got a text saying there was a death in the family. He accidentally spilled a drink, and says the suspect called them “white faggots.”
After Snipes confronted him, a fight broke out, culminating with the suspect whacking the couple over the head with a chair.
One witness, the man who shot the original video and posted it to his Instagram and YouTube accounts, says Snipes initiated the first hit.

Over at Joe.My.God, Joe Jervis writes “black gay blogger Waddie G, author of The G-List, posted a claim that may reshape the entire scenario.”
That claim says “the alleged Black aggressor is possibly a same-gender-loving male, according to my source.”
There’s seemingly a suggestion that if the suspect is gay, the attack cannot be an anti-gay hate crime, which of course is both ludicrous and false.Â
Others have noted the racial element, indicating it could also be a racial hate crime.
The NYPD, according to DNA Info, which first reported the story, is investigating the attack as a hate crime.
