Every American Must See This Historic White House Video: ‘Supporting A Ban On Conversion Therapy’
Continuing its advocacy for banning harmful “ex-gay,” “conversion,” or “reparative” therapy, the White House just posted an amazing video that should be required viewing for every American.
Wednesday night President Barack Obama, through his senior advisor Valerie Jarrett, announced his support for a ban on all forms of so-called “conversion” therapy for minors, also known as “reparative” or “ex-gay” therapy.
That announcement was in response to a White House petition calling for the federal government to enact Leelah’s Law, which would ban sexual orientation and gender identity change efforts nationally. Leelah’s Law is named for Leelah Alcorn, a transgender teen who took her life after being subjected to “Christian” therapy, and what she described as a lack of support from her family.Â
Today, the White House posted this amazing video to its official YouTube channel.

This should go down in history as one of the most significant examples of how President Barack Obama and his administration have changed America.
Never before has the LGBTQ community been supported, embraced, and validated by the federal government.
It is a stunning, historic, and moving moment, one I hope every LGBTQ person can embrace.
Thanks to the President and his administration, and all the fine people who made this position change and this video possible.
