‘I Ridded One Less Child Molester From The Earth’ Says Neo-Nazi Accused Of Murdering Gay Man
A neo-Nazi who called his supervisor at a North Carolina college a “child molester” is accused of shooting him to death in a possible anti-gay hate crime.
Police are investigating the murder of 44-year old Ronald Lane, a longtime Wayne Community College employee, as a “possible hate crime.” On Monday, according to police, Kenneth Stancil III, 20, walked up to lane, his supervisor at the Goldsboro, North Carolina school, and shot him once, to death, with a “pistol-grip shotgun.” Lane was gay, and after a 20-hour manhunt, Stancil reportedly confessed, saying at his arraignment on Tuesday that his actions left the world with “one less child molester.”
As the police mugshot above shows, Stancil’s face and neck are covered with tattoos, including an “88” on his cheek. 88 is a symbol used by neo-Nazis. The eighth letter of the alphabet is “H,” and 88 stands for “Heil Hitler.”
Talking Points Memo’s Ahiza Garcia published an extensive report, complete with several images of Stancil, whom TPM says both the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Mark Potok and the Anti-Defamation League’s Mark Pitcavage agree is or shows signs of being a neo-Nazi.
In “a profile that Stancil appeared to have created on New Saxon, a social networking site for ‘people of European descent,'” Garcia reports, “Stancil listed ‘motorcycles, white pride, adolf hitler, bavarian motor works’ and ‘guns’ as his interests. The only book on his profile was ‘My struggle,’ or ‘Mein Kampf,’ according to Pitcavage. Stancil noted that he disliked ‘race traitors’ and described himself as a ‘6 ft 2 in, Aryan man’ with ‘blondish brown hair’ and blue eyes. Among his hobbies, he noted an interest in welding, auto mechanics and ‘tattoo artist.'”
WFTV reports at his arraignment, Stancil had strong words, and confessed.
“I just want you to know, I ridded one less (expletive) child molester from the (expletive) earth that (expletive) with my little brother. All right? That’s all I got to say,” Stancil told the judge. “I don’t give a (expletive) how much time they give me. Doing time is the easy (expletive) part, know what I’m saying?â€Â
The AP reports that Stancil’s mother, Debbie Stancil, “said she knows one of her relatives was not sexually abused by Lane, as Kenneth Stancil claimed in court, because the relative and Lane had never met. She believes Kenneth Stancil is making the accusations because he is ‘rattled and confused.'”
