BREAKING- Hillary Clinton To Supreme Court: Grant Same-Sex Couples ‘Constitutional Right’ To Marry

Hillary Clinton has weighed in strongly on same-sex marriage and is urging the Supreme Court to support equality.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton wasted no time after announcing her run for the White House to weigh in on same-sex marriage. This morning the former Secretary of State urged the U.S. Supreme Court to find a “constitutional right” for same-sex couples to marry.

“Hillary Clinton supports marriage equality and hopes the Supreme Court will come down on the side of same-sex couples being guaranteed that constitutional right,” Hillary For America spokesperson Adrienne Elrod told Chris Johnson of the Washington Blade, who was the first to report the news.

Clinton in the past has said that gay rights are human rights, but had not weighed in on the national debate. Last year she suggested same-sex marriage was a state’s rights issue, and this appears to clarify her position it is a civil and constitutional right.

This is a developing news story and will be updated.
