Pat Robertson: Gays Destroying Marriage, But ‘Isn’t A Whole Lot Else You Can Do’ Except Pray

Televangelist Pat Robertson is again attacking loving same-sex couples and families in his unique way.

Is octogenarian televangelist Pat Robertson giving up his battle against same-sex marriage? No way, but he says there’s nothing anyone can do at this point. Anyone, except God, that is.

On today’s “700 Club,” Robertson’s co-host Terry Meeuwsen read a letter from a viewer upset his son is getting married to a man, and the couple will be adopting a child.

“I feel this will be unfair to the child,” Jacob’s letter says. “What should I do?”

Robertson had few words of wisdom, but he advised the viewer to “pray about it” and to “speak about it” because same-sex marriage is “wrong, it’s violating the scripture.”

He also took the opportunity to attack gay people and loving same-sex couples.

“This so-called lifestyle — I just can’t believe it, they have tried to destroy marriage,” Robertson charged, falsely. “Marriage is between a man and a woman and they’ve now brought cases to the Supreme Court saying, ‘well, the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional’ and so forth.”

But Robertson seemed to realize marriage equality is the future.

“So what should you do?,” he posited. “You better get on your knees and pray and let the Lord take care of it because there isn’t a whole lot else you can do.”
