Watch: GOP Senator Throws Snowball On Senate Floor To Debunk Climate Change

Watch as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Environment lobs a snowball on the floor of the Senate to “prove” that climate change isn’t real.

If there’s one thing James Inhofe likes it’s props.

There was the time the U.S. Senator from Oklahoma stood on the floor of the Senate with a chart about four feet long of his family tree and proudly exclaimed that he and his wife “have been married 47 years. We have 20 kids and grandkids. I’m really proud to say that in the recorded history of our family, we’ve never had a divorce or any kind of homosexual relationship.”

That was in 2006 when he was advocating for a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage.

Then there was the time Sen. Inhofe posted photos of his grandchildren in Washington, D.C. building an igloo. They hung a sign that read, “Al Gore’s Home,” to mock the climate change activist. That was 2010.

Today, Inhofe was again the prop guy.

The 80-year old senior Senator unwrapped a snowball from a plastic bag and threw it at the Senate President, to “prove” that climate change isn’t real.

Because if it’s cold outside how can global warming be happening?

“In case we have forgotten, because we keep hearing that 2014 has been the warmest year on record, I ask the chair, do you know what this is,” Inhofe “asked.”

“It’s a snowball. And it’s just from outside here. So it’s very, very cold out. Very unseasonable.”

“We hear the perpetual headline that 2014 has been the warmest year on record,” he said. “But now the script has flipped.”

Of course, he’s wrong. It hasn’t.

Inhofe literally wrote the handbook for anti-science climate change deniers: The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future.

It’s unclear how he because the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Environment.
