New Poll Confirms Republicans Today Are Anti-Science Christian Theocrats

A new poll out today confirms many charges liberals have been making against conservatives for years.

A new poll released today supports the growing perception liberals have of conservatives. According to Public Policy Polling, Republicans do not believe in climate change or evolution, and would like to turn America into a Christian theocracy.

PPP finds that the vast majority – two-thirds, actually – of Republican primary voters do not believe in global warming. And almost the majority, 49 percent, do not believe in evolution, with just 37 percent siding with Darwin. Meanwhile, in perhaps the most frightening revelation, the majority of Republican primary voters – 57 percent – would support establishing Christianity as the national religion.

Liberals may take some solace in noting that the polling sample was relatively small, just 316 Republican primary voters. But primary voters are the ones who decide who becomes the party’s nominee.

That same poll, out today, finds that Wisconsin governor Scott Walker, the man who said issues like evolution and climate change have no business being in politics, is now the Republican frontrunner.

Walker, who recently told a reporter, “I’m going to punt on that one,” when asked if he believes in evolution, is leading the Republican field right now, with 25 percent. He is followed by another climate change and evolution denier, Dr. Ben Carson, at 18 percent.

Jeb Bush, once the number one man, now falls to number three (17%), and Mike Huckabee earns just 10 percent.

Chris Christie and Ted Cruz get 5 percent each, Rand Paul 4 percent, and Rick Perry and Marco Rubio just 3 percent each.
