Measles Outbreak Is A ‘Hoax’ Says Conspiracy Theorist Glenn Beck (Video)

Watch as Glenn Beck says the government is behind the claims of a measles outbreak to get people to obey them.

Glenn Beck has finally found a conspiracy theory to get him back in the news.

While the GOP likely presidential candidates are stepping over themselves to find an angle on vaccinations that will play well to their respective bases, Glenn Beck spent the week telling his viewers that the measles outbreak isn’t. It’s a “hoax,” the 50-year old Mormon claims, and it’s just a means the government is using to control you.

Google “Glenn Beck” and “conspiracy theorist” and you’ll get over 55,000 results, with titles like, The Top 9 Glenn Beck Conspiracy Theories, How Glenn Beck’s Conspiracy Theories Are Born, Glenn Beck’s Latest Conspiracy Theory and Conspiracy theorist Glenn Beck has new conspiracy theory.

There’s a reason for that.

Right Wing Watch today reports, “There is a fundamental irony that lies at the heart of Glenn Beck’s media empire, in that it operates under the banner “Truth Lives Here” while Beck himself continues to be a regular source of misinformation and falsehoods.”

“Is it possible we have been lied to about the measles, this outbreak, and that we are now being told all kinds of things for one purpose, for the herd mentality to get us all to grab out children and obey the government?,” Beck asks.

He then mocks what he says is a CDC claim that there have been 644 cases of measles, because the disease has been “eliminated” from the U.S.

Meanwhile, Beck, who claims to be “pro-family” and “pro-life,” last year stood up and applauded parents who refused to vaccinate their kids.

And earlier this week, Beck pointed to the thoroughly debunked claim of a link between vaccines and autism, and insisted anti-vaxxers – parents who refuse to vaccinate their children – are being persecuted, like the Catholic Church persecuted Galileo.

The church has become the state and if you don’t practice their religion exactly the way they tell you to practice it, you’re done,” he claimed.
