Breaking: US Supreme Court Denies Alabama Request To Halt Same-Sex Marriages

Literally minutes before couples are to begin marrying, the Supreme Court has responded to Alabama’ request for a stay.

The U.S. Supreme Court, having ignored Alabama’s request to extend a stay on a same-sex marriage ruling set to expire Monday morning, minutes ago finally responded, by denying the request. That move, despite Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore’s order banning the issuance of licenses to same-sex couples, should make it easier for probate judges in the Heart of Dixie to do their jobs.

The order notes that only two Justices, Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia, would have granted the state’s request.
