Roy Moore: Do Two Bisexuals Or Two ‘Transgendered’ Marrying Create ‘A Family Of Four’?

Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore is back, displaying his ignorance about same-sex marriage, and bisexual and transgender people.

We are a nation of laws, not of religious edicts and interpretations, so religious arguments should never be allowed to be used in a court of law. Neither should those making the arguments be consumed with ignorance.

Take Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, who displayed an alarming level of ignorance about an institution he’s been fighting very publicly for weeks.

In an interview with the Associated Press published Monday, Judge Moore attempted to illustrate just how much the legalization of same-sex marriage would actually change the institution of marriage across the nation.

“You’re taking any definition of a family away,” if the Supreme Court finds a right for same-sex couples to marry, the Alabama jurist claimed.

“When two bisexuals or two transgendered marry, how large is that family?,” he posited. “Can they marry two persons, one of the same sex and one of the opposite sex? Then, you’ve got a family of four or how many?”

Astoundingly, Judge Moore is under the strange misconception that all bisexual and transgender people want to marry two persons, one man, and one woman. That is incorrect for the vast majority of bisexual and transgender people, who likely are monogamous at similar rates as the rest of the population.
