Watch: Mayor Of Paris Is Suing Fox News

The Mayor of Paris says she will sue Fox News after the US cable giant made false statements about her city in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo attack.

After a week of false reporting at Fox News in the wake of the attack on Charlie Hebdo, the mayor of Paris has announced she will be suing the American cable news media giant. Fox News hosted several so-called experts who claimed there are “no-go zones” across Europe, and even several in Paris, France, where only Muslims are allowed and there is no local law enforcement – just Islamic laws and customs.

“When we’re insulted, and when we’ve had an image, then I think we’ll have to sue, I think we’ll have to go to court, in order to have these words removed,” Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo tells CNN’s Christiane Amanpour in the video clip, above. “The image of Paris has been prejudiced, and the honor of Paris has been prejudiced.”

France’s version of “The Daily Show” has been mocking Fox News ever since. “Le Petit Journal” labeled Fox News reporters “clowns,” and Fox News host Elisabeth Hasselbeck and journalist Nolan Peterson “Barbie and Ken.” And later, the show mocked Fox News in a skit featuring American journalists on the streets of Paris, exclaiming, “Paris is the most dangerous city in the universe!

Fox News issued several apologies over the weekend.
