Rachel Maddow was in her prime talking Republican politics with David Letterman – can you tell from her expression?
Rachel Maddow, MSNBC anchor and host of “The Rachel Maddow Show” made an all-too-rare appearance Wednesday night outside of her Rockefeller Center studios. The 41-year old liberal icon sat down to talk politics with David Letterman, and as you can tell from the expression on her face, she was on fire.
Maddow’s opening response to Letterman’s question if she is “eagerly anticipating the 2016 campaign,” was to pant like a dog. Why? “Both sides are a total mess,” she shared, but on the Republican side “there’s a huge field, there’s like 20 people running, and the field is so weak that Mitt Romney thinks he can get back in. Like America hasn’t had its chance to say what we think about Mitt Romney yet?,” she quipped.
Letterman asked if there have been “fundamental changes made in the Republican party?”Â
“No change has been made in the Republican party,” Maddow responded, except “instead of Ron Paul, it’s Rand Paul,” and, “I think Mike Huckabee has a different book now.”
