Ben Carson: People Upset Over My Poisoned Gay Wedding Cake ‘Joke’ Are Being ‘Immature’
Dr. Ben Carson isn’t backing away from his “joke” this weekend about anti-gay bakers poisoning wedding cakes of same-sex couples.
Tea Party activist Ben Carson over the weekend made a “joke,” telling an audience at the Iowa Freedom Summit that same-sex couples shouldn’t try to force anti-gay bakers to make their wedding cakes.Â

Carson told reporters he had “a problem…when people try to force people to act against their beliefs because they say, ‘they’re discriminating against me.'”
“So they can go right down the street and buy a cake, but no, let’s bring a suit against this person because I want them to make my cake even though they don’t believe in it. Which is really not all that smart because they might put poison in that cake,” he said.
Many were unhappy about the remarks, but Carson appeared on Fox News Monday night to push back.Â
Anchor Megyn Kelly prompted, “now some are claiming you’re suggesting gays who complain about what they view as discrimination, risk getting poisoned.”
Carson was only too happy to respond.Â
“You know, that would be a very immature interpretation of what is a common thing, never make your waiter or your chef angry because you don’t know what they’re going to put in your food. People who look for something like that to make an issue out of really don’t have much of an issue. So, I guess that’s rather comforting.”
Ironically, Carson also told Kelly that if he does not win the GOP nomination to run for President, he would like to see the Republican to be “somebody who puts the Constitution on the top shelf, who doesn’t pick and choose the laws that they want to enforce, somebody who understands the economy and understands how to get it moving, someone who understands the real meaning of compassion, and how we actually invest in our fellow human beings, and provide them with a ladder to actually achieve, and not just to stay in a dependent position, and someone who knows how to lead on the world stage.”
Sounds like he wants a Democrat, doesn’t it?
