President Barack Obama just said, “Yes, I do think they made a mistake,” by pulling “The Interview.”
In his year-end press conference, President Obama made news by responding to a reporter’s question about Sony pulling “The Interview” this week.
“Yes, I do think they made a mistake,” President Obama said. “I wish they had spoken to me first,” suggesting it was an important and precedent-setting free-speech issue.
“We can not have a society in which some dictator some place can start imposing censorship in the United States.â€
He also said it says a lot about North Korea for choosing to threaten Sony over a “satirical movie, starring Seth Rogan.” Reporters laughed, and he added, “I love Seth.”
Reporters offered a few tweets:
Pres Obama says US will respond to NKorea’s attack on SONY. Says response will be proportional and at a time, place and manner we choose.
