Michelle Duggar’s Sister And Her Girlfriend Think She’s Brainwashed By A ‘Cult’

Michelle Duggar has a sister who reportedly is a lesbian – and she has some concerning words abut her.

Michelle Duggar, the matriarch on TLC’s reality TV show “19 Kids and Counting,” has an older sister whose reportedly is a lesbian in a long-term relationship. 63-year old Evelyn Ruark lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with her partner, Sharon Callahan.

On their website, the Duggars posted a photo, “Michelle with her siblings – Evelyn Ruark, Freda Benderman, Garrett Ruark, Cathy Arnold & Pamela Peters – Spring 2011.”

It’s the only photo of Evelyn, and a search of the site produced no other mention of her at all.

In fact, aside from a reported appearance on an early episode, the Duggars and Evelyn Ruark seem to have virtually no public appearances or commentary about each other.

But Ruark’s partner, Sharon Callahan, 52 says that the couple is worried about Michelle.

Why?

Many believe the Duggars subscribe to the beliefs of the Quiverfull Movement, a small conservative evangelical often-Protestant sect found mostly in the U.S. Quiverfull adherents belief in using absolutely no form of birth control, including family planning – hence, probably, the “19 and counting.”

The Duggars, however, have stated they do not. ‘We are simply Bible-believing Christians who desire to follow God’s Word and apply it to our lives.”

Those who subscribe to Quiverfull also believe that the role of a woman is as a mother, child-bearer, and servant to her husband.

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD:
and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man;
so are children of the youth.
Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them:
they shall not be ashamed,
but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Psalm 127:3–5

But sister Sharon Callahan seems to believe they do.

And it’s no wonder then that Radar reports Sharon told the National Enquirer several years ago, “We are worried about them,” and that they “have often thought that QuiverFull is a cult.”

“It appears to be brainwashing to me,” she added.

Meanwhile, Josh Duggar, who is the head of Family Research Council Action, recently spoke of his Aunt Evelyn being a lesbian.

“I have an aunt who has chosen to live that life and I love my aunt. I think she is an amazing person,” he told listeners— before assuring fans that she also is opposed to gay marriage. “She believes that marriage is between one man and one woman.”

Josh also recently held a “Rally for True Marriage” in Arkansas. Here’s a short clip from the rally:
