Guess What Everyone At Fox News Is Saying About The Senate Torture Report?

The gang at Fox News pulled out all the stops today to make sure conservatives believe that the Senate torture report is nothing more than a political distraction.

The U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee, headed by Democrat Dianne Feinstein, today released a 500-page report on torture conducted under the George W. Bush administration. The examples are gruesome, upsetting, and disturbing, as these tweets from journalists describe:

So, of course, the folks over at Fox News are furious that this report was released, and practically everyone over at the network is more angry than we’ve seen in some time. And, of course, they’re spinning that anger into an embarrassing rejection of reality.

Fox News National Security Analyst K.T. McFarland:

“Why go after it now unless the motivation is completely political?” she remarked. “Congress is changing hands, the Senate is going from Democrat to Republican hands. And are the Democrats in the Senate just — they’ve been evicted from the house, are they just trashing the place before they leave?”

Fox News correspondent Jesse Watters:

… the American people did not need to know about torture at the CIA because “people do nasty things in the dark especially after a terrorist attack.”

“The Senate Democrats, they’re just trying to get one last shot in at Bush before they go into the minority!”

Fox News’ Out Numbered host Andrea Tantaros:

“The United States of America is awesome, we are awesome,” she said. “But we’ve had this discussion. We’ve closed the book on it, and we’ve stopped doing it. And the reason they want to have this discussion is not to show how awesome we are. This administration wants to have this discussion to show us how we’re not awesome.”

“They apologized for this country, they don’t like this country, they want us to look bad. And all this does is have our enemies laughing at us, that we are having this debate again,” Tantaros added. “Because they believe if we can just shame ourselves and convince the world how horrible we are, and put us on a moral equivalency with all these other countries then maybe they will stop beheading Americans and putting our heads on sticks. They’re fools.”
