Fox News: Michael Brown’s Stepfather Should Be Charged With His Death

Dr. Keith Ablow believes his psychiatric training offers him unique legal insight into Michael Brown’s stepfather’s state of mind – and a unique application of the law.

Fox News‘ Medical A Team member psychiatrist Keith Ablow has a long history of using his medical degree to diagnose public figures without having actually examined them in person. That might be an issue for the American Psychiatric Association (APA) were Ablow a member, but he claims he “resigned in protest, some time ago” from the world’s largest and most-respected psychiatric organization.

Ablow’s attacks on public figures and minority groups include his speculation that Vice President Joe Biden suffers from dementia, that transgender people are just like heroin addicts and anorexics, and that President Barack Obama wanted America to suffer an Ebola outbreak because his emotional “affiliations” and “affinities” are with Africa.

That of course is a mere tip of the iceberg from Dr. Ablow’s unique psychiatric portfolio.

Today on “Fox & Friends,” Ablow was asked to weigh in on the news that Michael Brown’s stepfather, Louis Head, (not Michael Brown, Sr.) is under investigation by Ferguson police and might be arrested for attempting to incite a riot on the night the grand jury failed to indict officer Darren Wilson.

Ablow’s response, like so many of his diagnoses from afar, was also unique.

“Michael Brown’s stepfather should be charged with attempting to incite a riot because that’s what he’s doing there. There’s nothing to suggest that he doesn’t have that intent.”

He added that Brown’s stepfather did not look like he was displaying grief. “It looks like retribution, and for a perceived injustice that the courts say did not occur.”

Of course, the courts – in this case, a grand jury, not a jury trial – did not exactly say “injustice…did not occur.” They failed to indict Officer Wilson.

“Listen, the investigation into Michael Brown’s death has ended, and now the investigation into his life should begin,” Ablow said, after identifying himself as a “forensic psychiatrist.”

“And I would question whether having a stepfather like Michael Brown’s, this man who should be charged with attempting to incite a riot, influenced Michael Brown to lose his life, to have no respect for the property of others, no respect for authority,” he told his Fox News colleagues. “And therefore, to find himself engaged in a mortal conflict with a law officer — an officer of the law.”

“The fact that he is the stepfather makes him culpable potentially for more than just those words, for the life of Michael Brown,” Ablow added. “And his death.”
