The U.S. Supreme Court has just denied Florida’s request for a stay of rulings striking down bans on same-sex marriage.
After months of trying many different options, Florida’s Republican Attorney General, herself divorced twice and married three times, filed a petition this week with the U.S. Supreme Court. Pam Bondi asked Justice Clarence Thomas to place a stay on rulings that struck down the Sunshine State’s ban on same-sex marriage.
That request was just denied.
Same-sex couples, barring any interference, which seems at this point impossible, will be allowed to marry beginning January 6, 2015.
