GOP Senator: Obama Immigration Move Will Spark ‘Violence’ And ‘Anarchy’ Like Ferguson (Video)

A top U.S. Republican Senator is warning President Obama’s planned executive order to fix immigration will have dire consequences.

Oklahoma Republican Sen. Tom Coburn predicts the country will see “violence” and “anarchy” across the nation if President Barack Obama announces his planned executive order to fix the immigration system.

“The country’s going to go nuts, because they’re going to see it as a move outside the authority of the president, and it’s going to be a very serious situation,” Coburn told USA Today Wednesday. “You’re going to see — hopefully not — but you could see instances of anarchy. … You could see violence.”

Why?

“Instead of having the rule of law handling in our country today, now we’re starting to have the rule of rulers, and that’s the total antithesis of what this country was founded on,” Coburn said. “Here’s how people think: Well, if the law doesn’t apply to the president … then why should it apply to me?”

Despite his unique friendship with the Democratic President, Coburn accused Obama of being “an autocratic leader that’s going to disregard what the Constitution says and make law anyway.”

Like most Republicans, Sen. Coburn says the President is acting outside the law and does not have constitutional authority to change immigration policy. Experts disagree.
