Gay Couples Are ‘Gremlins That Will Destroy Our Way Of Life’ Says GOP Congressional Candidate

A Republican candidate for the U.S. Congress from South Carolina says that same-sex couples are “gremlins,” and a “pestilence.”

Anthony Culler is the Republican nominee running for the U.S. Congress in South Carolina’s 6th district because “God has asked me to run.”

“When elected, “Culler wrote on Facebook last week, “I will consult the Constitution and God on every bill. Then I will cast my vote. I will strive to be a Godly servant to the people I represent while staying in line with the Law of the Land…the Constitution.”

Of course, given Culler’s religious beliefs, those two masters are likely to be at odds.

Culler apparently spends a fair amount of time on Facebook. Hs posts frequently refer to God and his faith. In one post he says that he is “living a ‘life of Faith.'””

In another, he writes that same-sex marriages are not marriages, but rather a “public record” of sin. He warns loving same-sex couples who wish to marry, “you will be putting a visible mark on you and the person you love.”

Last week, Culler wrote a lengthy rant on the social media platform that called loving same-sex couples “gremlins,” and “a pestilence that has descended on our society.”

“If you believe in traditional families and that marriage is defined as an institution between one man and one woman then I ask that you start acting like it and START VOTING like it!,” Culler writes.

Do not buy the “cuteness” and “What will it hurt?” arguments whispered in your ears and marketed to our children. Same-sex couples that seek to destroy our way of life and the institution of marriage are NOT cute and cuddly but rather (for those of you that are old enough to remember the movie), Gremlins that will only destroy our way of life.

Same-sex “marriage” is a pestilence that has descended on our society, against our will, by those in the courts and government that do not value the traditional family. These people, like my opponent SC-6 Congressman Jim Clyburn who OPENLY supports same-sex “marriage,” seek to destroy the traditional family and the values we cherish.

This has been allowed to happen because the groups and individuals pushing this evil are louder, bolder, more organized and determined than the individuals and groups that believe in tradition families.

Same-sex “marriage” has become “legal” because the mass majority of citizens, those of us that believe in traditional families and marriage being between one man and one woman, have ALLOWED this to happen due to our ignorance and apathy. (Sound familiar…look at what our government has become due in no small part to our apathy and non-involvement!)

In the post, Culler also claims gay people are “bullies,” “self-destructive,” “have a strong tendency for substance abuse,” and are a “scourge on society.”

Culler, a birther, is running against Democratic incumbent U.S. Congressman James Clyburn.

Culler, by the way, seems to be the subject of a 2009 story at the Daily Sentinel, “Bank-protesting family one step closer to eviction,” and this 2010 article.
