The U.S. Supreme Court has just lifted a stay on this week’s 9th Circuit ruling that struck down a same-sex marriage ban. Now what?
Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy early Wednesday morning granted an emergency stay request the day after the 9th Circuit struck down Idaho and Nevada’s marriages bans. Moments ago he lifted that stay. Should Nevada be any guide, same-sex couples may be able to marry after a judge officially places an injunction on Idaho’s law banning same-sex marriages.
