NEVADA: Kristy Best and Wednesday Smith Are First Same-Sex Couple To Get Marriage License (Photo)

In Carson City, Nevada, the County Clerk has just begun to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

After a Supreme Court decision refusing to take up same-sex marriage cases, after the 9th Circuit Court striking down its same-sex marriage ban and then the Supreme Court staying that ruling — accidentally — and then restoring it, same-sex couples in Nevada are finally being issued marriage licenses for the first time.
