Watch: Target Thumbs Nose At Anti-Gay Boycotters, Includes Gay Dads In New Ad
Target isn’t paying attention to boycotts from its anti-gay critics — as this latest ad makes clear, gay is here to stay.
Target (NYSE:TGT) is making clear its vision for the future includes same-sex couples, whether anti-gay groups like the National Organization For Marriage (NOM) and the American Family Association like it or not.
In August, NOM announced an embarrassing boycott — one that failed so miserably it got less than three thousand people to sign up. The boycott was so ill-conceived that NOM doesn’t even include it among the boycotts on its front page, like those against Chase and Starbucks (which have failed as well.)
Meanwhile, one month later, the American Family Association decided to jump on the boycott bandwagon and launched an attack on Target too, mentioning this statement in particular from Target’s Executive Vice President of Human Resources in its announcement:
“It is our belief that everyone should be treated equally under the law, and that includes rights we believe individuals should have related to marriage.”
So, it bring us great joy to present this adorable, catchy ad, the latest from the folks at Target.Â
Jeremy Hooper, who first reported on the ad, writes:
Made to matter, indeed. Another bad blip for those who choose to deny us our worth.
