Together 72 Years, Women In Their 90’s Marry In Iowa

For these two lucky women, love has lasted a lifetime. After 72 years together they finally made it “official.”

On Saturday at the at First Christian Church in Davenport, Iowa, Vivian Boyack and Alice “Nonie” Dubes, married. “This is a celebration of something that should have happened a very long time ago,” Rev. Linda Hunsaker told the small gathering of friends and family as the women held hands.

The couple have been together for 72 years. 

Boyack, who is 91, spent her life as an elementary school teacher. Dubes, who is 90, worked in payroll for a local newspaper.

Together, they traveled across the country, visiting all 50 states, all Canadian provinces, and went to England, twice.

“We’ve had a good time,” Dubes told the Quad City Times.

Boyack added it takes a lot of love and work to keep a relationship going for 72 years.
