Shocking New Ray Rice Video Exposes NFL’s Misogyny

Just released video shows the moment NFL running back Ray Rice allegedly struck his then-girlfriend, leveling her unconscious and to the floor. Some insiders say the NFL saw the video before issuing a two game suspension.

In February NFL Ravens running back Ray Rice and his then-girlfriend Janay Palmer were arrested in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Both were charged with assault.

Shortly thereafter, video was released showing Rice and Palmer after the altercation, outside the elevator where the assault took place.

The NFL suspended Rice for only two games.

Now, TMZ has released video from inside the elevator showing the full extent of the violence a man, allegedly Rice, used against a woman, allegedly Palmer.

ABC News reports the NFL claims, in a statement, that they “requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator.”

“The video was not made available to us and no one in our office has seen it until today.”

Deadspin disagrees.

In “Someone Is Lying About Whether The NFL Saw The Ray Rice Tape,” Deadspin’s Barry Petchesky writes,

There are three possible explanations here. The first is that every single reporter who said the NFL had seen the video was lying. This seems unlikely, since they were all telling the same lie, both for public consumption and in their off-the-record talks with us.

The second is that the NFL was lying to all of the top football reporters back then about having seen the video, in some attempt to smear Janay Palmer.

The third is that the NFL is lying now about not having seen the video—that league officials saw what everyone has now seen, for whatever reason actually found it exculpatory, and are now making false claims to protect the league’s image. This interpretation is supported by an employee of the Revel, the Atlantic City casino where the fight took place. He tells TMZ that the NFL saw the footage before disciplining Rice.

Watch and decide for yourself why the NFL sought fit to only suspend Rice for two games.

Watch and decide for yourself how Rice is not a distraction but Michael Sam is.

Watch and decide for yourself if the NFL is a misogynistic organization.
