Fox News: If Ray Rice ‘Had Punched A Gay Guy He Wouldn’t Have Been In The NFL Anymore’

A Fox News guest host this afternoon opined that if Ray Rice had punched a gay man instead of his girlfriend the NFL would have kicked him out right away.

On Fox News’ “Outnumbered” today, guest host Bernie McGuirk told his co-hosts that if banned NFL player Ray Rice had hit a a gay man his punishment would have been faster and more severe than what he initially received after slugging his then-girlfriend.

Yesterday, after more video was released by TMZ, showing Rice hitting Janay Palmer in an Atlantic City casino elevator, the Ravens terminated his on tract and the NFL subsequently suspended him for one year.

McGuirk did express empathy for Janay Rice, Ray Rice’s wife, saying she’s a “victim” several times over.

“The NFL, they’ll suspend you for pot a half a year,” McGuirk said, apparently in an attempt to criticize the organization.

“The Dolphins guy [Don Jones] was suspended for expressing his opinion on the [Michael Sam] gay kiss,” McGuirk lamented.

“He was sent to re-indoctrination camp,” McGuirk said. NBC Sports reported that “Jones was required to undergo ‘educational training’ as part of his condition for reinstatement.”

“I mean, if he had punched a gay guy in an elevator, this Ray Rice, he probably would have been charged with a hate crime. He wouldn’t have been in the NFL anymore.”
