The Gay Games are the world’s most inclusive sporting event and are open to all adults regardless of sexual orientation or athletic ability. The 9th quadrennial games will be in Cleveland+Akron, Ohio, in August. More than 35 sports and cultural events plus parties, ceremonies and more fun will be part of the 2014 Gay Games presented by the Cleveland Foundation.
Adding to the traditions of San Francisco, Vancouver, Sydney, New York City, Amsterdam, Chicago and Cologne, Northeast Ohio is eager to welcome the 20,000 to 30,000 participants and visitors from around the globe.
Built upon the principles of Participation, Inclusion, and Personal Best, the Gay Games have empowered thousands of LGBT athletes and artists and their allies, through sport, culture, and fellowship since 1982. The Federation of Gay Games is the non-profit umbrella organization comprised of individuals and organizations from four continents that manages the Gay Games, safeguards its founding principles, and promotes the Games’ history of inspiration and achievement.
