Watch: Hillary Clinton Tells Jon Stewart She’d Like Her Next Office To Have ‘Fewer Corners’
In a jovial game of cat and mouse, Jon Stewart asked Hillary Clinton about the location and shape she’d prefer for her next office.Â
It was more like two old friends having coffee together than an interview, but Jon Stewart managed to get Hillary Clinton to come about as close as she ever has to declaring. Playing career counselor last night, the “Daily Show” host whipped out a clipboard and asked the former Secretary of State a few questions to help her decide about her next career move.
“Do you like commuting to work or do you like a home office?,†Stewart coyly asked.Â
Clinton noted that in her last job she “commuted” a great deal (though she didn’t mention it, 112 countries spanning 956,733 miles,) so a “home office” would be nice.
“Do you have a favorite shape for that home office?,†Stewart continued. “Would you like that office … to have corners? Or would you like it not to have corners.â€
“You know,†Clinton quipped, “I think that the world is so complicated, the fewer corners that you can have, the better.â€
“It sounds to me,” Stewart concluded, “if I may, you’ve declared for the presidency.â€
He then mentioned Clinton’s “dead broke” comment that got her into hot water. She called it “in artful,” and talked about how times have changed. Clinton says she’s worried that young people today can’t find jobs.
“You know what’s awesome?†Stewart responded. “How easily you pivoted from that into income inequality in America. That says to me you’re running for president.â€
