Priest: World Cup Is A ‘Homosexual Abomination’ — Because Of The Shoes

A Russian Orthodox priest says that the World Cup — and soccer in general — is a “homosexual abomination,” apparently because the shoes are so colorful they can be lined up to make a rainbow.

Talk about sore losers.

Russia’s team in the World Cup didn’t win a single game — they left after two draws and one loss — and now one Russian Orthodox priest is toeing the party line, over shoes. Alexander Shumsky in an op-ed for the Christian website Russian People’s Line is calling the World Cup a “homosexual abomination,” and slamming players for their shoes.

“Wearing pink or blue shoes,” Shumsky laments, the team “might as well wear women’s knickers or a bra.” He added that the players’ haircuts are “unthinkable.”

By the way, this is Alexander Shumsky:

“The liberal ideology of globalism clearly wants to oppose Christianity with football,” Shumsky wrote. “I’m sure of it. Therefore I am glad that the Russian players have failed and, by the grace of God, no longer participate in this homosexual abomination.”

Father Shumsky is a member of the Russian Orthodox Church, the same church that Vladimir Putin converted to.
