New Poll: If Election Were Today, Hillary Clinton Would Beat Every Democrat And Republican

Hillary Clinton may have had a rocky start as she tests the waters, but a new poll finds if the presidential election were today she would trounce every Democratic and Republican politician — by a large margin.

The non-partisan Quinnipiac University poll released yesterday finds Hillary Clinton “sweeps” both the Democratic and Republican field if she were to run for president. Clinton would take 58 percent of the vote in a Democratic primary, and would trounce every Republican challenger, by seven to nine points.

In a match up against Republicans Chris Christie, Rand Paul, or Mike Huckabee, Clinton would win by nine points. Against Jeb Bush or Paul Ryan, she would win by seven. She would also take the women’s vote in those races, by 16 to 19 points.

“Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton takes a ton of heat on wealth, book sales and her legacy at the State Department, but she emerges with no serious Democratic challenger, while the Republican field remains clustered and flustered,” Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, said in the poll’s release.
