YesAllWomen? Pat Robertson Says Wives Must Gratefully Reward Husbands Who Do Chores With Sex
Pat Robertson has the secret to a loving and exciting marriage. When a husband does the dishes, a wife should reward him with sex. Husbands, the octogenarian televangelist claims, have an innate need to “to provide for his family,†and so for “providing†clean dishes a wife should provide sex.
n response to a viewer who wrote in, asking Robertson to pass judgment on her husband’s obsessive need to point out all the chores he’s done each time he does one, Robertson said the wife needs to understand the “male psyche,†noting that doing chores is “his way of saying I love you.â€
Robertson chided the viewer, asking her, “Do you want to have a loving, warm, sensuous, exciting marriage or do you want to have a partnership, a business relationship with your spouse?â€
Ironically, this segment aired today, as the country is engaged in a tumultuous conversation on misogyny after Friday’s killing spree in Santa Barbara, California. The 22-year old man who stabbed his three roommates and shot to death four others, including himself, left a 141-page manifesto and several YouTube videos that attacked women in horrible terms for rejecting him sexually.
“Women are like a plague,’’ Rodger had written. “They don’t deserve to have any rights . . . Women are vicious, evil, barbaric animals, and they need to be treated as such.
“In an ideal world, sexuality . . . must be outlawed. In a world without sex, humanity will be pure and civilized. Men will grow up healthily, without having to worry about such a barbaric act. . . . In order to completely abolish sex, women themselves would have to be abolished.â€
The Twitter hashtag #YesAllWomen has come to help spark that conversation.
