Fox News Contributor Slams ‘Absurdity’ And ‘Insanity’ Of Homosexuality And Transgenderism

Fox News contributor and far-right wing Tea Party conservative pundit Erick Erickson is attacking what he calls the “absurdity” and “insanity” of modern-day homosexuality and transgenderism, claiming that people of faith will be left to pick up the pieces when the rest of us are dead.

Anyone in their right mind could have predicted the meteoric plummet from journalism’s grace the has befallen Erick Erickson. The founder of the curiously popular RedState blog, Erickson was hired by CNN (even after saying that “comparing gay rights activists to the Nazis is fitting) during that network’s similar ratings demise. Once it was clear CNN was not the right home for the anti-gay, racist, sexist, misogynistic theocratic fear-monger, he made his logical move — to Fox News.

Today Erickson has an op-ed published in a local Georgia paper. Titled, “Our present insanity,” it rides upon Erickson’s hatred of LGBT people.

“In the present insanity of the modern age, one’s sexual orientation is biological and one’s gender is a choice,” Erickson cries, calling society’s increasing support for transgender, gay, lesbian, and bisexual people the “utter nonsense” of “people who claim science as their god but have no settled science to show for this.”

Clearly, Erickson isn’t especially up on his science — nor does science have to be “settled” for it to be factual and correct. Climate change — where 97 percent of scientists agree but Erickson and his cronies are “unsettled” — comes to mind.

And then, of course, Erickson attaches his God to the equation.

“Those who practice acceptance and tolerance,” he writes, presumably referring to liberals, progressives, and LGBT supporters “cannot accept that there are those, because of their faith and values, who refuse to conform to the secular world.”

Let’s interrupt right now to remind everyone that while you can choose to live in whatever work you think you can, reality strikes hot and we’re all in this together.

He claims that the left has “chosen to force their worldview on others. They will not stop until everyone conforms. Those who do not will be denied livelihoods, access to the public square, and the fight to practice their religion.”

The secularists insist freedom of religion itself be confined to a freedom of worship on a Sunday morning. Those who are defined by their faiths and not their sexual predilections will be outcasts from society.

The modern world has lost its mind. Those secularists, ostracized and marginalized for living their faith have one key advantage — they procreate the most and will one day be left picking up the pieces and rebuilding society once sanity returns.

I’ll confess that that last paragraph makes no sense to me. Does Erickson mean “spiritualists” instead of “secularists”?

Regardless, the truth is clear — intolerant, anti-LGBT, anti-science, anti-women, antediluvian minds like Erickson’s are quickly learning their reign is at an end, their popularity plummeting even faster than Erickson’s popularity.

Even Erickson’s Fox News coworkers aren’t all thrilled with him. Case in point.
