Stephen Colbert last night talked about America’s declining church attendance, and mocked one Kentucky Baptist church that’s trying to increase attendance by giving away 25 guns.
Colbert sarcastically detailed some of the latest signs “that America is going to the bow-wows.”
“Gay marriage is legal in seventeen states, medical or recreational marijuana is legal in 20 states, and,” the late night pundit quipped, “in Colorado you can now legally marry your bong.”
Fortunately for America, Colbert has identified part of the “problem.”
“A quarter of all congregations had fewer than 50 people in the pews.”
Enter the Kentucky Baptist Convention’s Chuck McAllister, who’s giving away more than two dozen guns.
