Yes, some things should be beneath the dignity of the Office of the President, and appearing on actor and comedian Zach Galifianakis’ cult talk show spoof, “Between Two Ferns” is one of them. Of course, it’s an attempt to reach an audience the President never would were he to go on the late night talk show circuit, or deliver a speech to college students, but this time Obama’s bookers definitely bruised the Office.
In the six-and-a-half minute video, Galifianakis pretends to not really know who President Obama is, and even at one point suggests the President should try to outlaw “gay divorce” to see just how must same-sex couples really want the right to marry.
Of course, one man’s humor is another man’s Hangover trilogy, so who knows what some folks will find humorous.
And apparently, the idea is working. A quick Google search of Obama+Galifianakis nets “About 1,230,000 results.”
