Watch: Michele Bachmann Spends Ten Minutes Talking About Prayer And God Blessing America

There’s little question that four-term Rep. Michele Bachmann is one of the most-mocked and least-respected people in Congress today. Were it not for her impending “retirement” from the House of Representatives at the end of this term — which totally has nothing to do with all the ethics investigations and accusations surrounding her, her husband, and her presidential campaign — no doubt the media would give her more attention.

But Bachmann is still doing wild and zany things, like hosting a totally Bible-based Christian religious event inside the U.S. Capitol — the same one she spoke at last year, when she announced that it was “no secret” the September 11, 2001 attacks and the 2012 attacks on 9/11 in Benghazi were God’s “hand of judgment.”

“In an effort to promote the event, Bachmann filmed a nearly ten minute video for Birther-website WorldNetDaily in which she explained that America has been blessed because the Founding Fathers knew that ‘the promises of God that were given to the children of Israel in the Old Testament were also promises that we ourselves could appropriate to ourselves as a nation.'” Right Wing Watch reports:

And by following the laws and values set out by God in the Book of Deuteronomy, America has prospered, Bachmann explained, warning that prosperity depends upon the nation’s willingness to continue embracing and promoting these values.

World Net Daily, which posted the video below, writes of Bachmann’s speech that “Americans didn’t make a king our sovereign. We didn’t make government our sovereign. We made God our sovereign.”

It’s important to note the list of those Congressmen and Senators who will be attending this Bible event in the headquarters of our nation’s government:

“In addition to Bachmann and [Mike] Huckabee,” World Net Daily announces, “those attending ‘Washington: A Man of Prayer, 2014’ will include Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas; Mike Lee, R-Utah; Ron Johnson, R-Wisc.; and Reps. Louie Gohmert,R-Texas; Steve King, R-Iowa; Steve Stockman, R-Texas; Mike McIntyre, D-N.C.; Kristi Noem, R-S.D.; Corrine Brown, D-Fla.; Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan.; Jeff Miller, R-Fla.; Diane Black, R-Tenn.; Steve Womack, R-Ark.; and Chris Stewart, R-Utah; Jim Bridenstine R-Okla.; John Mica R-Fla., and others will be in attendance.”

WND adds the event’s organizers will also be offering a “free school curriculum (K-12) on the historical events surrounding the inauguration of President George Washington … provided by the Brook Hill School of Bullard, Texas.”

(That would be “a private, independent Christian School.”)

Nothing like national elected leaders ignoring the First Amendment inside the nation’s capitol.

The event will also be attended by some of this nation’s top anti-gay and hate group leaders. Again, the list via WND:

Dr. Jim Garlow, as well as Bishop Harry Jackson Jr., Dr. Robert Jeffress, Phyllis Schlafly, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, Star Parker, Penny Nance, Dr. Peter Lillback, Bill Federer, Bishop Angel Nunez, Rosemary Schindler Garlow, Charmaine Yoest, Sergio De La Mora, Tony Perkins, Samuel Rodriguez and Rafael Cruz (father of Sen. Ted Cruz.)
