Watch: Bachmann, Religious Right Hold ‘Christian Led Prayer Event’ Inside Nation’s Capitol
Michele Bachmann tonight is leading the third-annual Christian led prayer event inside the nation’s Capitol, Washington — A Man of Prayer. The event is a prayer meeting masquerading as a history event. Rep. Bachmann, along with Rep. Louie Gohmert, Senator Ted Cruz, and some of the nation’s top religious right leaders will join hands and pray in Statuary Hall, the rotunda at the top of the building where Congress has led the nation for more than 200 years.Â
Also among tonight’s attendees are Tony Perkins, Mike Huckabee, Phyllis Schlafly, Penny Nance, and Pastors Harry Jackson, Raphael Cruz, Jim Garlow, Robert Jeffress.
The United States Marine Corps Band’s Brass Quintet is playing the national Anthem.
This highly-controversial integration of church and state was authorized by Speaker John Boehner. Â Â
