Patrick Stewart: ‘I Have, Like, Five Or Even SEVEN Hetero Friends And We Totally Drink Beer’

var addthis_config = {“data_track_addressbar”:true};Patrick Stewart may have played a gay character, but the 73-year old X-Men and Star Trek star and same-sex marriage advocate eloquently and jocularly reminded a top British paper that he’s not. The Guardian, in a story heralding Ellen Page‘s heartwarming coming out last week, identified Stewart as gay when it published this line:

Some gay people, such as Sir Patrick Stewart, think Page’s coming out speech is newsworthy’.

New York Magazine called it “cringe-worthy.”

It really isn’t, since there’s nothing embarrassing about being called gay, but it is embarrassing since Stewart is an OBE (Order of the British Empire), making him Sir Patrick Stewart, and one of Britain’s most-popular assets.
