Here’s Pussy Riot’s New Anti-Putin Video With Four Words In English: ‘Gay Pride A Problem’
var addthis_config = {“data_track_addressbar”:true};Pussy Riot, the Russian feminist punk rock activist group whom Vladimir Putin jailed for almost two years, and then released in December, have been making big headlines this week.
On Monday, two Pussy Riot members were arrested on likely false charges of hotel theft (between nine and 40 others, including journalists, were arrested under similar circumstances the same day) and subsequently beaten. They were released after four hours.
On Tuesday, while preparing to record the video below, “Putin Will Teach You How To Love,” actual Russian Cossacks horsewhipped, beat, and sprayed Pussy Riot members with pepper spray. The Cossacks are militia members, not actual members of Russian law enforcement, but are used by Russia’s national police to keep citizens in line.
Apparently, that includes whips.
Here’s the video, recorded mostly in front of a Sochi Olympic venue — the same one at which they were horsewhipped — and below, the lyrics, translated by Google Translate. (Original via YouTube)

TEXT Olympic Song PUSSY RIOT:
50 billion and Prismatic Ray,
Rodnina and Kabaeva will hand torches.
In the camps will learn to obey and cry.
Salute nachalnichkam hello, Duce.
Sochi blocked – Olympus supervised
Special equipment, weapons, crowds of cops
FSB – MIA argument – argument
According to Russia-1 – applause.
Putin will teach you to love the motherland
Spring in Russia is a sudden
Hi messiah as volley
Aurora, the prosecutor set boorish
He needs a rebuff, and not beautiful eyes
Aviary for protest, vodka, matryoshka
Prison for Swamp, liqueur, caviar
In the Loop constitution in the zone Vitishko
Stability, soldering, fence, tower
Putin will teach you to love the motherland
For Rain blocked ether
Pride has been sent to the toilet
Two Point WC – priority
Russian sentence, common mode, six years
Putin will teach you to love the motherland
Homeland
Homeland
Homeland
