Google Doodle Goes Rainbow Pride Gay, Quotes Olympic Anti-Discrimination Principles

Google is jumping — head and heart first — into the international LGBT civil rights controversy surrounding the Sochi Winter Olympics. Just minutes ago, Google changed their “doodle” — their logo on their search pages — to a rainbow-themed Olympics logo. If you want to say they’re just mirroring the Sochi official colors, you might be right — but then Google added the Olympic’s anti-discrimination language from the Olympic charter’s preamble:

“The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play.”

Touché, Google, touché!
