Gays Are Going To Hell Says State’s Expert Witness In Michigan Marriage Trial
The state of Michigan could not have done the LGBT community a bigger favor than it did by forming its expert witness list in the case that will decide the future of marriage for the people of the Great Lakes State. Michigan’s Republican Attorney General Bill Schuette, who is defending the state’s 2004 ban on same-sex marriage, has put together an embarrassing case, and it showed this week.
Michigan’s first expert witness, a law student from Yale University who has written extensively against same-sex marriage was barred from even testifying by the judge in the case, DeBoer v. Snyder, for the simple fact that he’s still a student. “Someone else is still grading your papers,” Ken Mogill, an attorney for April DeBoer and Jayne Rowse told the court. Judge Bernard Friedman agreed.
Another expert witness, Mark Regnerus, had his fatally-flawed “study” that was designed to prove children of same-sex couples fare worse than their peers raise by different-sex couples decimated. It didn’t, and his study and reputation took severe lickings. Another embarrassment for the State. And a worse embarrassment for Regnerus, who exited the witness stand after three hours of testimony only to learn his own university denounced his research in two public statements posted on the University of Texas’ website.

Then yesterday, the State put on the stand NOM-linked Canadian university economist Douglas Allen, who similarly has authored an anti-gay parenting “study” which is full of holes and based on a predisposed anti-gay bias.
“Is it accurate that you believe the consequence of engaging in homosexual acts is a separation from God and eternal damnation?” Ken Mogill asked Professor Allen. “In other words, they’re going to hell.”
“Without repentance, yes,” Allen replied.
Kind of takes the “expert” out of “witness.”
