It’s been one week since the bodies of a same-sex couple were found near a convenience store dumpster in Galveston, Texas, and new details are being uncovered that make the case appear to have been an anti-gay hate crime. Last Friday morning, Britney Cosby and Crystal Jackson, both 24, were found murdered. The couple had been raising Jackson’s five-year old daughter.
James Larry Cosby (image), Britney Cosby’s father, is being held on charges of evidence tampering, but Galveston County Sheriff Henry Trochesset is stating Cosby likely will be charged with the murder of both women.
And disturbing details about the father are now being reported, including that Larry Cosby was a registered sex offender and that “writings about homosexuality [were found] on Cosby’s Koran indicating he may have had an issue with” Britney Cosby’s sexual orientation, as LGBTQ Nation reports.
“[James]Â Cosby, a registered sex offender just released from prison last October, has an extensive criminal history with convictions for sexual assault, assault, drugs and weapons dating back to the late 80s,” FOX 26 News in Houston reports.
Quanell X, a spokesperson for the Cosby family, spoke with reporters yesterday.

While the Sheriff would not speculate about a motive, Quannel X claims he found writings about homosexuality on Cosby’s Koran indicating he may have had an issue with his daughters sexual orientation. “In Islam homosexuality is forbidden. It is forbidden. I learned today that Larry was a practicing Muslim,” said Quanell X.

Cosby was convicted of the sexual assault of a 22-year-old and sentenced to 10 years in prison in 1994, Cook said. He was released in 2004 but violated rules required by his sex-offender status and was sent back to prison in 2012. He was released last October and moved into the house with his daughter and her grandmother.
Britney Cosby was killed by blunt force trauma and her partner, Crystal Jackson, died of a gun shot.
