At State of the Union, GOP Celebrates With Duck Dynasty Stars Desecrating American Flag

var addthis_config = {“data_track_addressbar”:true};

Many Republicans are not known for their respect of actual American values, but rather, the fake ones. Take, for example, Republican U.S. Senators David Vitter and Lindsey Graham, and Congressmen Steve Stockman, Jeff Duncan, and Thomas Massie. All of whom tonight were caught proudly posing and snapping selfies with two of the stars of Duck Dynasty.

Those Duck Dynasty stars — Korrie  and Willie Robertson — were wearing American flag handkerchiefs on their heads. And that’s apparently against the law.

“Think I’m kidding?,” asks John Aravosis at AmericaBlog.

It also appears to be a clear violation of federal law – heck, the law even mentions handkerchiefs specifically.

Title 4 United States Code

§ 8. Respect for Flag

(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever.It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.

Imagine if a Democrat had done this before George Bush’s State of the Union.

Imagine, indeed.
