Dr. Ben Carson says that white liberals are “the most racist people there are.” The Johns-Hopkins director of pediatric neurosurgery and tea Party darling found himself in hot water last week after comparing gay people to NAMBLA, pedophiles, and “people who believe in bestiality,” but later “apologized,” stating he was sorry “if†he offended anyone.
Today, Carson spoke with Sarah Palin‘s favorite Tea Party pundit, Mark Levin, and explained that in his mind, he represents an “existential threat” to liberals.
Levin sets Carson up, saying, “you’re attacked also, in many respects, because of your race. Because you’re not supposed to think like this, and talk like this. A lot of white liberals just don’t like it, do they?”
“Well, you know, they’re the most racist people there are,” Carson responds. “Because, you know, they put you in a little category, a little box, you have to think this way: ‘How could you dare come off the plantation?'”
Last week, Carson stated:
“No group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA [the North American Man/Boy Love Association], be they people who believe in bestiality, it doesn’t matter what they are, they don’t get to change the definition. So it’s not something that’s against gays, it’s against anybody who wants to come along and change the fundamental definitions of pillars of society. It has signifcant ramifications.â€
He later told the Baltimore Sun, “I think people have completely taken the wrong meaning out of what I was saying.”
Carson, talking today with Levin, ays he’s received a tremendous outpouring of support, especially for his comments that being “politically correct” is killing the nation.
