President Obama’s top strategist yesterday on ABC News’ “This Week” dodged a question on same-sex marriage from George Stephanopoulos. The question? Will President Obama support a plank in the Democratic National Committee’s 2012 platform calling for support of same-sex marriage equality.
Plouffe — the man whose job it is to get him re-elected — said that “the President spoke to this issue, I certainly don’t have anything to add to that.”
He added, “We don’t even have a platform committee.”
20 Senators, plus House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi all support a plank in the DNC’s platform supporting same-sex marriage.
